Have you always wanted to learn how to start a pizza restaurant? There are a lot of steps to be considered when starting up a pizza business.  However, with lots of planning and some forethought, you will be able to open a very successful pizza restaurant.

Business Plan

Starting a pizza restaurant should entail a business plan to highlight your goals, which should include all major phases to be completed to reach your goals. Considerations to think about include: Are you going to go it alone and run your business as a sole entity? Are you considering franchising the business and if so what are all the steps, rules, and regulations involved?

Evaluate all your liquid assets and determine if applying for a business loan is in the picture. Define your specific pizza dishes you are offering for sale. What location will you use for your business?  Research your competitors, their locations in proximity to yours and what dishes are in direct competition with you. In addition to these questions, you will need to get business licenses and shop for insurance.

Equipment and Suppliers

Selecting goods, suppliers, and equipment is a major endeavor when you start a pizza restaurant. Keep a tablet of paper handy for notes to keep you up to date and organized on things you need to follow up on. Prior to buying or placing any orders for goods and equipment, you will have discussed the counter space, tables/chairs, lighting, and all interior designs with the leasing company. Depending on the size of restaurant that you are equipping, purchase or lease your pizza ovens, a walk-in cooler, and a freezer. You will also need a rolling machine, dough maker, and a stove.

You will have a long list of pots, pans, utensils, serving dishes and tableware to be ordered from a restaurant supply shop. Vehicles to be used for pizza deliveries should already be designated and ready to go with company logos. All the fresh ingredients for making pizzas need to be ordered and ready for use. Advertising for your new pizza restaurant needs to be designed and in place about three months prior to opening.

As you can see there are many details to be worked out when you seriously start thinking about how to start a pizza restaurant. Opening a restaurant will be a lot of work, but with dedication, motivation, and some clever ideas you should have a great pizza restaurant.
